Elementary Library Summer Reading Challenge

The goal is to encourage our students to become lifelong readers. Summer reading is an important activity for children's intellectual and developmental growth. Research has shown the importance of children reading daily during the summer. Reading helps a child maintain and improve skills worked on during the school year.

To make reading more entertaining for students, we encourage each child the freedom to choose books that speak to their unique interests.

This year students have two options to log their reading:

1. Download and complete the 2025 Summer Reading Log to list the books read. The completed form must be submitted to the Bracken Christian School librarian, Teri Jennings, no later than Fri. Aug. 22, 2025.

2. Submit each book read using the NEW online log form: Online SRC Log Form

These students will be recognized during a Special Library Chapel. Students who read and record books meeting the minimum recommendations for their grade level will receive a certificate.

Kindly review the letter from the Bracken Christian School's Librarian for more details on the expectations of the reading challenge.

Please Note:  Audiobooks do not count.
